Long before she became a powerhouse CEO, Shawnie Grant was a college student with a heart for impact and a vision far bigger than herself. While juggling her studies and working as a tutor and mentor for teenage girls in Houston’s inner city, Shawnie took her first step into entrepreneurship by giving.
She began donating clothes straight from her own wardrobe to young girls in need. But what started as a small act of kindness quickly grew into something transformational. As she watched her students light up with confidence and begin to thrive, she knew this was bigger than her. Shawnie officially launched her first business venture - a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization after she completed her undergraduate studies.
The mission? To empower young women through clothing, confidence, and career development. Her organization quickly became a movement, bringing together community members to donate prom dresses, shoes, professional attire, and lead career workshops that opened young girls’ eyes to endless possibilities.
From the classroom to the community, Shawnie’s journey began with service and that passion still drives her today.
